CLIVE by EyeBallPingPongPro CLIVE by EyeBallPingPongPro
This is what Clive looked like when I bought him from Ebay:[link]
Here's links of Clive in the subway and of his stuff: [link]

For the cigarette smoke I used some really nifty brushes from digital-nexus:[link]
The background is from istockphoto: [link] and my own hessian/burlap photo.

I think it would be dangerous if Clive really was smoking, so good to hear it's a brush :D Don't need anyone to be consumed by a fire. Anyhow, neat photo :D

It is actually good for his health!
He smokes a special brand of cigarettes made from thread, they contain many precious vitamines!

Maybe one day I'll make some dolls to sell, but these sock monkey's are just to keep myself and give away as gifts. I have to get the monkeys shipped over from the states, as you can't get them here, so taking into consideration the shipping cost and the cost for the materials and my time for making them, I would need to charge more that I think anybody would pay, especially not here where a lot of people don't really know about sock monkeys...
Besides, I get too attached to them!

You should have your own stylist show on television. You worked wonders on Clive. From slob to sauve! Maybe that can be the title of your show.

Goodness, I just wrote a perfectly good answer to this and it got eaten up by the computer, what is the world coming to?
Once a slob always a slob at heart!
Can you tell me, so that I can roughly estimate the level of your slobbiness, how many items of clothing, on average, is strewn across the floor and chairs in your living quarters and also what your worst slob-habit is?
I will not dispose of any details of my own until I have a record of yours, for fear of ridicule.

I am pretty good at hanging up my clothes. I currently reside in a very small living space so I cannot afford the luxury of strewing my clothing across my floor and furniture. Also I tend to wear the same jeans for weeks on end. Shirts I only wear for the most up to a week. Socks and underwear (latter depending on my diet) I pretty much change every other day. I am cheap and I try to do my laundry at the very most once a month. My mother and most women would be appalled. I am glad I am not a smelly guy or I am sure women would not talk to me at all. I am also pretty neglectful when it comes to dusting and throwing out paper. Dust and paper always overwhelm me. Other then that I am a pretty neat guy. I always do my dishes right after I finish my meal. I make my bed each and every day. Every week I clean the bathroom and vacuum the condo. So far I have had no complaints from my landlady/roommate. I never comb my hair. I do not wear cologne. I shave as little as possible. I shower everyday and constantly clean my ears. I pick my nose. I also pick the belly button lint from my naval, which for some reason I find to be truly captivating; it is right up there with plucking nose hair and the occasional back hair, as well as peeling the dead skin off my feet and smelling my own farts. I am always surprised by what comes off/out of my body. Despite the ingrown nails on my big toes and the hangnails on my fingers, my nails (as far as I can tell) are presentable. I am probably closer to being a slob then being a neat freak. Maybe I am just gross. Either way I am probably in dire need of a woman's touch. Unfortunately, I am very stubborn. My mother has long since given up on me. Yeah, I am a lost cause. Sorry ladies. There is also some sort of mysterious black stuff on my left big toe. Maybe it is a fungus.

Verdict is: NOT GUILTY!
The accused is to be aquitted from all charges or slobbishness, apart from laundry, but even on that charge the jury could not find the evidence was severe enough to warrant a jailterm (spent working in the prison laundry). I will however recommend the all the evidence in ziplock bags shall be washed before being worn again, especially the grey socks or we shall be forced to reconsider.

I'm not bothered, you sound pretty much as much of a slob as the average guy, or me.

I take a bath every day and wash the dishes ok and do the recycling every week and wash the clothes once a week, so I'm not all bad.
My biggest downfall are plasticbags and paperpieces with "important" information and strewn clothes, which can be found
in big, messy piles all across the flat, much like molehills.
It's not so much slobishness, as me thinking, I'll deal with this later and then forgetting.
I tend to be engrossed in one thing or anther most of the time when I'm at home, and I pretty much become unaware of all other things going on around me, be it somebody talking to me or the place being messy, and whilst doing whatever I do I create a mess. Unfortunately I don't really hardly ever become engrossed in straightening the place up.
I much prefer to clean like once a week and not worry about the state of the place inbetween, I like cleaning when it's proper dirty as I get a real sense of achievement then, like a springclean type thing, but small, everyday cleaning bores me.
Doing it this way worked for me when I was living by myself, but living with Dan, who prefers doing a bit of cleaning most days so it doesn't build up to being such a big job (I can see that this is the better way) creates a bit of a problem at times.
I think we found a solution tho', Dan does all the cleaning, and I do other things like the cooking.

I'd get that toe checked out if I was you, sounds like gangerene! My mum told me that I must cut my toenails in a straight line, not rounded at the edges, to stop ingrown toenails, seems to work a trick, anyway I'm too scared to do it any other way. What is a hangnail?
Tell me about your landlady/roommate, is she nice, or a pain in the butt?

I do not wear grey or white socks, just black and navy blue, because they conceal a lot more. Does gangerene not smell? I will have to give my toe a whiff one of these days to make sure everything is all right. As for my relationship with my landlady/roommate I try to keep it strictly business. She tends to be a little vindictive when I do not agree (on most subjects) with her. I do not need the headache so I just mind my own business most of the time.

Hey, thanks for all the messages!
I will do a combined reply for ultimate efficiency.
1.) Thanks for the favourites, I sure do appreciate it!
2.)They're all hanging out in the livingroom, I counted especially for you and there's 19 stuffed creatures on the sofa. Clive isn't sitting there, he's by the other guitars in the house. Sometimes I make a doll to give away to someone.
3.) Yep, his mojo, fits nicely in his backstach. I bought the grungiest looking liqur bottle I could find at the flea market, (50p) the man thought that I actually was going to drink it. It's says Underberg Semper Idem Bitters, it was made in the Fed Rep. of Germany!
4.) I know he has been a long time coming. I burnt out when I only had the guitar left to do,as I knew it was going to be a bit fiddly, and started working on other things. For the teeth I used ovenbakable fimo as usual, painted with acrylics & yacht varnish. He has a gold tooth as well, but it didn't show so well in the photo. He'd drink you under the table!
5.) Yeah, that make sense, I like it and all but couldn't understand how it all was meant to hang together, just wanted to check if it was me being thick.
I'd be interested reading about the guard. Ekkirindil, does it exist?
6.) Too great!
7.) Ok. Do you know a lot about manual cameras? I got one I can use, but I need to teach myself how to use it properly. Digital cameras are so handy tho', I really like how I can take lots of pictures without being fussed about wasting film. Without a scanner, I guess even if I did take a photo and developed it, I would still need to take a photo of it with my digital camera to get it into the computer...
Model railways do seem a bit sad to me.
Take care,
x

Wow! people are right- I do ask a lot of questions. I'm was very worried you were going to tell me that the teeth are teeth- very realistic. I can understand that burn out- Clive looks like a lot of hard work- but so worth it. He really is fantastic. That's an old bottle of alcohol! We drank a bottle of USSR vodka last year- didn't notice the age till we were half way through it.

Ekkirindil was the first silly fantasy name I thought of (I was very tired)- on reflection I might have had 'Ekkialsbakki' on my mind- it's mentioned in the Orkneyinga Saga as the burial place of Sigurd- though nobody knows where it is for sure. I might still get round to the story of the guard but I need to fix the book first. I really shouldn't have been doing it while I was on the phone but sometimes I'm possessed with the need to do things.

Cameras. I only ever learn how to use the one I'm using at any given time. Not much of a geek in that respect- or maybe I'm just a lazy geek. Someone asked me the other week what my last car was and I said 'blue'. It took a female friend to tell us the make and model and that it was white. all I needed to know was it got me places. I lost a car in the airport carpark last year as I couldn't remember what I was driving. I'm like that with cameras- if it takes pics I'll learn how it works and I'll play with it.
